Sunset Lounge needed a menu system that could hold a large amount of information without losing the relaxed, sun-warmed character of the restaurant.

The solution uses a horizontal format, a structured multi-column grid and clearly separated reading zones for food and bar content. Warm ivory tones, deep evening blue and botanical line illustrations preserve the relaxed, sunset-inspired character of the restaurant while keeping the menu practical and easy to scan.

Visual language

The visual system combines a warm ivory base with deep evening blue, editorial serif typography and hand-drawn botanical illustrations.

Expressive headings give the menu a distinctive character, while restrained body typography keeps dish names, descriptions and prices clear and readable. The botanical framing adds atmosphere without competing with the content, creating a balance between decoration and functionality.

From Sketch to Final Layout

The main challenge was organising a large amount of content without overwhelming the guest.

Menu items are divided into clear category groups and arranged within a consistent multi-column grid. Aligned prices, controlled spacing and strong section headings make the content easier to scan. Dark blue panels distinguish drinks and selected categories, creating a secondary navigation layer while maintaining the overall rhythm of the layout.

The result is a flexible menu system that can accommodate a broad selection of dishes and drinks while remaining clear, balanced and visually connected to the identity of Sunset Lounge. The modular grid also allows individual categories, prices and seasonal items to be updated without rebuilding the entire layout.
